The Smithsonian Museums: are open every day of the year except Christmas. All of the museums are open from 10:00am - 5:30pm. The Smithsonian Information Center, located in the Castle, is open from 8:30am - 5:30pm. Some of these museums may have extended summer hours. All Smithsonian Museums are self-guided. Most museums and the zoo offer free highlight tours, given only by museum docents, at scheduled times throughout the day. Your city guide does not give tours inside the museums. Visit www.si.edu

The Supreme Court: Although the Supreme Court does not offer guided walking tours, visitors are encouraged to tour the building on their own and take advantage of a variety of educational programs including Courtroom Lectures, a visitor's film, and court-related exhibitions. Courtroom Lectures are available Monday through Friday. On days that the Court is not sitting, lectures are generally scheduled every hour on the half-hour beginning at 9:30am with the final lecture at 3:30pm. When the Court is in session, Courtroom Lectures are available only after Court adjourns for the day. A line forms in the Great Hall on the First Floor before each lecture, and visitors are admitted on a first-come, first served basis. Lectures are free of charge and do not require tickets or reservations. Once inside the building, it is suggested that those wishing to attend a lecture be in line 15 minutes before it is scheduled to begin. Washington National Cathedral: Group tours are available Monday through Saturday from 10:00am - 11:15am and from 12:45pm - 3:15pm.
